Planning drawings for all 33 London boroughs
Planning Drawings prepares planning and building regulations drawings for homes in all 33 London boroughs and in 17 councils outside London across six counties. Send your postcode and we name the council that would decide your application.

Why do you count 33 London boroughs?
The 33 are the 32 London boroughs plus the City of London, and in each of them we draw for the council that decides there, from the City out to the edge of Greater London. The list below groups them by compass point so you can find yours.
- Central: Camden, City of London, Islington, Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster
- North: Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Harrow
- East: Barking and Dagenham, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest
- South-east: Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lewisham, Southwark
- South: Croydon, Lambeth, Merton, Sutton, Wandsworth
- West: Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kingston upon Thames, Richmond upon Thames
Which home counties councils do you cover?
Seventeen councils beyond the London boundary are covered, in Essex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Kent and Surrey. They are grouped here by county, and listed from west to east within each county.
- Essex, three councils: Epping Forest, Brentwood and Thurrock
- Hertfordshire, four councils: Three Rivers, Hertsmere, Welwyn Hatfield and Broxbourne
- Buckinghamshire, one council: the Buckinghamshire council area
- Berkshire, one council: Slough
- Kent, two councils: Sevenoaks and Dartford
- Surrey, six councils: Spelthorne, Elmbridge, Mole Valley, Epsom and Ewell, Reigate and Banstead and Tandridge

Do you prepare drawings in Hampstead, Chelsea, Richmond and other prime areas?
Yes. Each neighbourhood below sits inside a council we cover, named beside it as on our coverage map, so the same coverage applies. Your postcode, rather than the neighbourhood name, tells us which council receives the application.
- Camden: Hampstead, Primrose Hill and Belsize Park
- Haringey: Highgate, Muswell Hill and Crouch End
- Westminster: Mayfair, Belgravia, Marylebone and St John鈥檚 Wood
- Kensington and Chelsea: Knightsbridge, Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill and Holland Park
- Richmond upon Thames: Richmond, Barnes, Kew and Twickenham
- Hammersmith and Fulham: Fulham and Brook Green
- Wandsworth: Clapham and Wandsworth Common
- Merton: Wimbledon
- Southwark: Dulwich
- Hounslow: Chiswick
- Islington: Islington and Canonbury
- Barnet: Hampstead Garden Suburb and Totteridge
- Kingston upon Thames: Kingston Hill
- Elmbridge: Esher, Cobham and Weybridge
- City of London: the City
How does the address check change from one council to the next?
The same extension can meet different rules in different councils, because whether a conservation area, an Article 4 direction, listing or a tree preservation order applies depends on the exact address, not on the borough as a whole. We check each of these, plus flood zone and planning history, before we send a fixed fee.
Your application goes to the local planning authority for the property鈥檚 address, usually the borough or district council. A postcode settles which council that is, so we look it up as part of the address check, and we name the council that would receive your application.

What if my council is not listed?
Ask us before assuming we cannot help. If your council is not on the lists above, send the postcode and a line about the project, and we tell you what we can do.
Questions about where Planning Drawings works
Is the City of London one of the 33?
Yes. The 33 are the 32 London boroughs plus the City of London, which has its own council. Central examples in our lists are Camden, Islington, Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea and the City itself. If your address is near a boundary, send the full postcode and we confirm which council applies.
Can you draw for a home just outside London?
Yes, when its council is one of the 17 we cover, in Essex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Kent and Surrey, all listed above. If your council is not on that list, ask us before assuming the answer is no, and we will tell you what we can do.
Check that we cover your address
Give us your postcode and a line about the project. We name the council that would receive the application and quote a fixed fee for the work.
